QUICK EASY STEPS TO REBUILD || UPGRADE YOUR WARDROBE

Is this what you see (below) when you look at your wardrobe?

* Clothes not worn in years
*Clothes you have had for so many years
*Clothes that do not fit anymore
*Clothes that still have price tags
*Clothes out of style
*Clothes that you have grown out of
*Clothes you are tired of wearing
*Clothes you may never wear
*Too many clothes but small wardrobe space

The list could go on and on but if your answer was yes for most of the above, then you need to get busy.

Clothes are to be replaced from time to time as they dont last forever. This is not to turn you into a fashionista or anything of that sort but instead this is much needed as it comes as an opportunity to update your look, help you know/find your style sense and also help you avoid having an outdated wardrobe. I will keep stressing that looking good is for your own sake, it makes you confident and a confident person will conquer practically anything!

A few days ago i answered yes to almost everything on the list above, sounds unbelievable but its true, because you would think a fashion blogger must have it all put together. I am a work in progress. Nevertheless, I will share with you the six steps that helped me rebuild/upgrade my wardrobe but before we get into that lets just look at why you need to rebuild or update your wardrobe:

° Opportunity to update your look
° Saves you so much time when preparing in the morning for work/school/any occasion
°Helps you know your style sense
°Helps save space (most of us dont have much closet space so a small wardrobe is necessary)
°Helps you suit your changing enviroment e.g from college and just started work or from one job to another job with a totally different dresscode or just got married etc.

Here are the six quick easy steps that may help:

STEP 1: FIND INSPIRATION

First things first, you need inspiration. What do you like and how would you like to look?
Make a collection of outfits or pieces that attract you and save them on your phone or computer if you like, my phone personally is full of outfit inspiration screenshots, also determine to learn how to put together pieces that already exist in your wardrobe. These inspirations can be found through pinterest and fashion blogs.

STEP 2: MAKE SOME DIFFICULTY CHOICES

I must admit this step right here is the hardest. What do i mean by making some difficult choices? I am talking about getting rid of all those clothes that don't fit anymore, those you haven't worn in a very long time, those that you have had for years etc Yes this is hard because we dont want to let go of memories that we have with certain clothes but you can not hold on to everything forever. This  is even a better chance for you to bless someone else who might even make good use of them like you once did. Create some space in that closet for new memories, i mean!

STEP 3: DECIDE YOUR WARDROBE COLOUR PATTERN

Based on what you have left in your wardrobe after taking step 2, it is necessary to stick to a certain colour palatte that works well together and best compliments you (4/5 colours are ok)

I am still trying to build my capsule wardrobe as i look forward to one that will consist of neutral colours like white, cream, blush, caramel and black ofcourse. Also a few pops of color here and there. Having a color palatte really makes up a stylish wardrobe and dressing up is far much easier as the colours all work well together.

STEP 4: MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU HAVE

Get  a note book, pen, and some nerd glasses because you are about to become a wardrobe accountant! Haahaa! But seriously this stage you need a pen and paper (if you like) to take your wardrobe inventory.List down what you currently have for your desired wardrobe.Listing down will help you know what you are missing which will bring us to step 5

STEP 5: LIST DOWN THE MISSING PIECES IN YOUR DESIRED WARDROBE

Afterr step 4 you will now know what  pieces, patterns or colors are missing in your wardrobe, list them down aswel, look at it like a shopping list/guide. The list also helps you avoid buying same items you already have or unnecessary clothes.

STEP 6: HAPPY SHOPPING!

I am happy for you if you have the cash to do this immediately, hahaha! But hey do not be discouraged Rome was not built in one day, you can gradually do this. My "things i need list" is still pending and its always exciting when the time comes to cross out an item I buy. They say slow progress is better than no progress.
